The third edition of Texworld USA took place July 17-19, 2007 at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center in New York City. Texworld USA continues to provide an international business platform offering a wide array of highly innovative and creative fabrics with an excellent price / quality relationship. By moving to the new venue, the event was able to accommodate a 30% increase in both buyers and exhibitors. With more than 2,500 highly qualified attendees and 194 exhibitors from 16 countries, the industry’s expectations were once again exceeded. Lenzing Innovation also received praise from both exhibitors and buyers and the partnership between Messe Frankfurt and Lenzing will continue to build and strengthen upon the results of the show.
Qualified Buyers Return
The qualification process for buyers at Texworld USA continues to be enforced by Messe Frankfurt to ensure that all attendees were legitimate buyers or designers. Each attendee registration was thoroughly reviewed and the appropriate credentials confirmed.
Some of the world’s most prominent labels attended the event including: Ann Taylor, BCBG Max Azria, Calvin Klein, Coldwater Creek, DKNY, Edun, Forever 21, Guess, Isaac Mizrahi for Target, J. Crew, Juicy Couture, Liz Claiborne, Marks & Spencer, Michael Kors, Mothers Work, Nautica, Nicole Miller, Sean John, Tommy Hilfiger, and Victoria’s Secret.
Seminars and New Trend Display Popular Attractions
The July 2007 seminar program sponsored by Lenzing Fibers and the first featured Texworld USA trend display were greeted with excitement and high regard by buyers. “Thank you - we really enjoyed the show, and found many new resources. The color and trend presentation was excellent, the color cards will be a useful and much-utilized tool. The trend display was well-done also. Kudos!” commented Isabelle Bernard, Design Director for Nicole Miller Outerwear div. of Shayne USA.
More than 500 attendees pre-registered for the Lenzing Symposium with topics on color trends, fashion forecasting, retail business trends and green sourcing. The seminars are an added service that Lenzing provides to Texworld USA for attendees to gather information and to bring additional focus to Lenzing Innovation.
The Texworld USA trend display was a first for the event and featured Fall/Winter 2008/09 trend colors represented by selected fabrics from Texworld USA exhibitors. There was also a display dedicated to Eco-friendly fabrics, based on organic cotton, hemp, ramie and bamboo in a range of natural tones, or slightly tinged with color.
The Partnership
Lenzing Innovation continued to partner with Messe Frankfurt for the third edition of Texworld USA. Dieter Eichinger, Global Marketing Director, Lenzing Fibers comments “Moving to Javits Center has taken Texworld USA a good step forward. We and our customers from Lenzing Innovation are extremely pleased with the results of the fair. Particularly encouraging is the fact that both the number and the quality of the visitors has increased considerably.
For us, Texworld USA is an important milestone on the way to positioning our brands, TENCEL and Lenzing Modal, in the USA. We have clearly noticed an increasing degree of awareness for our products and the commercial success that comes from taking part in this fair. For Lenzing, Texworld USA is developing more and more into a decisive tool for cultivating the US market.
All in all, we regard the working relationship with the organizers, Messe Frankfurt, as being extremely successful. In this connection, the exemplary, synergistic and cooperative attitude of the market leader represents an important cornerstone. The Lenzing Innovation platform points Texworld USA in the direction of technology and material leadership. Fashion, fabric and colour trends are a part and the basis of communication. However, new material and business models are also presented. We are, for example, able to transport burning topics, such as 'eco-fibres' and thus to conduct a dialogue with the sector. A future-oriented concept for communication and interaction is being developed here and we at Lenzing are already looking forward to the next event together with Texworld USA.“
